DCOIT is an industrial chemical that is used as an anti-fouling agent/biocide. It is also intended to be used in wood preservative products to treat and protect timber in use classes 2, 3, 4A, and 4B (siding, cladding, decks, doors, window frames, constructional timber, pallets, transmission poles, railway sleepers, etc.) (Norway, 2010, p. 20).
